Hi,
I think that the event at Elon University should be made into a Facebook event. There are a lot of students here who might be interested in attending, but won’t necessarily check out the Facebook group or this blog to see the event. If it is made into a Facebook event and people are invited, this more direct way of advertising might be effective.
Just a thought! Thanks for all of your hard work!
Hi Linda,
I absolutely agree with you about the facebook event. We are not the organizers of the event, so I did not want to overstep our boundaries by creating an event page for their event. I’m not 100% sure of the proper etiquette surrounding creating a facebook event page for someone else’s event. What do you think? Does anyone have anything to say about this? – Sarah Cook
Any admins in the CSM facebook group can create an event that is hosted by the group. Anyone else can create an event and type in “Company Shops Market” as the host but it will not be linked to that group. I don’t know who the organizer of the event is, but I would reccommend having a Facebook group admin make the event so it is tied to the facebook group. That’s just my opinion as a student!
Linda, thanks for your comment, not sure if Elon has a Facebook page to post this event, but I assure you that they were completely aware we were going to cross promote this event on our page. It was actually brought to my attention by an Elon staffer. I am involved with Elon at a couple of levels and a lot of Elon staff are members of the co-op. Hope to see you at the movie and stay tuned for a movie coming to the Paramount Theater on the same subject.
