The 2nd Annual Piedmont Green Gala was held on October 3rd, 2009. The focus of the event is showcasing ideas and opportunities for building a locally based, community minded, sustainable, healthy economy in Alamance County.
Participants included: Honey Electric, Company Shops Market, Sustainable Alamance, Triad Electric Vehicle Association, Guilford Solar Communities, Wells Branch Farms, Irongate Winery, Peacehaven, Cycle 9, B Corporation, Progress Solar Solutions, Light Energy Solutions, GreenPeace, Smitty’s Ice Cream and of course, TS Designs.

Company Shops Market Board President, Sharon Dent, shares the food coop message to Green Gala attendees. And enjoys some delicious locally made Smitty’s Ice Cream.

Tom Sineath, CEO of TS Designs, gives a tour of the employee gardens where they raise produce on-site.

The arrival of a Tesla Roadster immediately draws a crowd. 100% electric car that goes 0-60mph in 3.9secs and has a range of 244 miles per charge.

Puppy Kissin Booth: Chas & kissin puppy from Peacehaven Farm, located in Alamance County. Peacehaven is currently in the development phase and will be a place where adults with intellectual and physical disabilities can come and live permanently.
