Family Game Night Wednesday 5-7pm

Make Art Happen Concert for ACE Tonight Rescheduled

The concert that was scheduled for this evening, November 4th from 5-10, due to inclement weather, has been rescheduled to NEXT Friday, November 11th from 5-9.  We are still planning on having the same bands, and the CD that is being sold to benefit Alamance Citizens for Education (ACE), will be released then as well.  The cd has 20 different tracks from local artists, and the profits of the cd sale will go to benefit ACE.  For more information on the party, and how you can help this great community project, check out the project’s website here.

Now taking pre-orders for Thanksgiving.

November 24th is getting closer and closer and we would love to make it easy for you to plan your meal.  Let us do any and/or all of it.  We are offering everything from fresh all-natural turkeys, to whole meals.  We have a great amount of options for you, and you can check out all of them by clicking on the flyer or here.  Fresh turkeys will be available from Nov 18-27, and in order to get everything you order before Thanksgiving, we need all orders for Thanksgiving placed by Monday Nov. 21st at 8.  Most pickups will be available Tuesday and Wednesday before.  If you have any questions at all, please ask one of our associates.  We will be more than happy to answer them.  We also party platter, desserts, and breakfast options.  Whenever you are ready, just stop by the Customer Service counter to get yours filled out.  Payment will be due at pick-up.  Thanks, and see everyone soon.

Farm Float Workshop #4

It’s amazing what a little paint will do! Our fruit really came to life on Day 4 of our Farm Float project, as our band of volunteers turned our black and white fruits to color. A big yellow banana, a huge red pepper, a beautiful asparagus spear and bright orange carrot and lots of green and purple grapes are looking almost good enough to eat now. Just two more workshops and these creations will make their debut at the Burlington Christmas Parade November 19th.

A big thanks to Mieke Toland, former Grove Park Elementary School art teacher, who loaned her considerable talents and enthusiasm to our project. By the way, Mieke also heads up our community art display behind our registers. Our Dedicated Volunteer Award goes to kindergardener Bridget Galicia. She has come four weeks straight to help us make our farm float project a reality! Even after a big day at the Lexington BBQ Fest, she begged mom, dad and grandma to bring her to the Market today.

Our Cummings High School National Honor Society volunteers were a “huge” help today. A big thanks to Diana Menjivar, Jessica Vertiz, Ana Martinez, Griselda Martinez, and Jose Martinez. Back for their second week, Sisters Sophia Dill and Logan Dill joined our painting crew as well. They get all the glory for the gorgeous cabbage! Great job girls!

Meanwhile while his mom and sister shopped, Isaiah Coulton spontaneously joined the fun.  Even when the shopping trip was over he talked mom into letting him stay “just a little longer.”

We’ve got a little bunch of green peas that need paint and all of our fruits and veggies need a coat of clear sealer…. join us this coming Saturday for “Shellac Day” at the Market from 2 to 5 pm. Just two more weeks to go!
