Bratwurst and Burgers: Cane Creek Farm in Snow Camp, NC:

Producer_poster_v2 copyOver 500 acres of creeks, pastures, and woods make up the collective Cane Creek and Braeburn Farm (Wells Branch LLC). After joining our farms in a working partnership in 2007, we’ve set about creating a special home for unique breeds of pigs and cattle, as well as our ever expanding family of goats, chickens, turkeys, sheep, and ducks. Our animals are rotated continuously through pastures and woods. This is an ethical way to raise livestock and minimizes our need to medicate them, which helps assure healthy animals. Healthy animals lead to healthy food for our customers, food which happens to have incredible flavor. This is why many area restaurants use our products. Come out to the farm and we’ll show you our bountiful gardens, playful animals, and our conservation easement along Wells Branch teeming with wildlife. Help support local and sustainable farms in the Piedmont and promote our local economy.

At Cane Creek our system of raising healthy meat is quite simple.
We put our animals in their natural landscape (cows and sheep on pasture; pigs, goats, and chickens in woods and pasture) and allow them to feed on a diet similar to the ones they’ve evolved to eat. This creates healthy animals with a healthy meat and allows us to avoid using antibiotics and hormones.

Burger Sauce: G3 Sauce from Burlington, NC

Producer_poster_v1_G3SteakSauce_v1.psdStory of Gthree: Ever since I was a kid, I have spent summer weekends and vacations at my families eastern North Carolina beach cottage. Friends and family come from all over the southeast to enjoy the fiestas. There are a few staples that have made their way into the repertoire…great music, lots of laughs, excellent drinks, and most importantly, incredible food. My father, a virtuoso and guru on the grill, and my mother, an absolute wizard in the kitchen, make an unstoppable pair when it comes to creating a gourmet feast for the crowds.

You will always find a warm pot in the back corner of the stove. Inside this pot was the origin of our company, G three. This pot was filled with a steak sauce that could turn any grade of steak into an irresistibly tasty, first class masterpiece.

It was this sauce that inspired my idea to create not only a mouthwatering steak sauce, but a delicious all purpose sauce that could be used on any meat. After years of tweaks and modifications, I have finalized my masterpiece. Stemming from a family recipe, this Carolinian sauce blends classic hickory flavors from our past with a bold, tangy zest of the future creating a delicious addition to any meal. Whether topping a steak, filling a baked potato, basting chicken or smothering ribs, G three will quickly become a household staple. Indulge and Enjoy!

Beer: Red Oak Brewery in Whittset, NC

2009-11-4_BottledRedOakBeer_at_CompanyShopsMarket_01Pure and Fresh Bavarian Style Lagers… Not only are we intent on brewing lagers; we focus exclusively on the rich, mellow, Bavarian Lagers known throughout the world for their drinkability. In addition to brewing according to the Law of Purity, we do not to filter or pasteurize our Bavarian Lagers to ensure for that rich flavor and mellow taste.

97% of the brew pubs and micros in America make English style ales because they are easier and cheaper to brew; we wanted to make lagers, the most popular style throughout the world… even in England. Large American beer manufacturers don’t make lagers the way we do…the way it should be, that is, according to the Rheinheitsgebot or 1516 Law of Purity. Under this Law only Malted Barley, Hops, Water and Yeast may be used to make Real Beer…No Rice, Corn, adjuncts, additives, or preservatives are allowed.
